Habituation-like decrease in the responses of neurons in inferior temporal cortex of the macaque.

摘要: In both anesthetized and behaving macaques, we examined the responses of neurons in inferior temporal cortex (IT) to repeated presentation a visual stimulus. animals, responsiveness IT decreased with stimulus at interstimulus intervals (ISIs) 2-12 s but not 20 s. Responsiveness recovered after 5-min period no presentation. The response decrement was similar awake animals 2-s ISI, 6-s animal much less.
