摘要: Abstract Over the past several years, systematic experiments have revealed that irradiations which generate energetically dense cascades are much less effective than light-ion, MeV electron, or thermal neutron at producing freely-migrating defects. In this paper, results on defect production from ion-irradiation studies briefly summarized. Difficulties with applying a simple extrapolation of to environments discussed. This discussion, coupled our existing knowledge neutron-induced property changes, indicates Compton scattering, and (n, γ), He) p) nuclear reactions, considerably more important for defects was previously realized.
