摘要: Fetuin is a major protein of fetal bovine serum that exhibits heterogeneity and has been found to be associated with some biological active growth factors. Preliminary studies indicated commercial fetuin preparations contain lipids. We investigated in detail the nature lipids by using ultracentrifugation agarose gel chromatography followed lipid analysis. was variety lipids, predominantly cholesterol, cholesteryl ester smaller amounts phospholipids, triglycerides, free fatty acids. Adjustment preparation for various densities resulted fraction density 1.063-1.21 g/ml (1-2% total protein) contained bulk This eluted as single peak upon high pressure liquid chromatography. Delipidation lipoprotein-like particle sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide electrophoresis band range itself. These suggest (or isoform) binds forming floating characteristics similar lipoproteins.
