摘要: Abstract A generally accepted trend in secondary succession – the decline dominance of shade-intolerant species was examined. We dealt with a species, Phellodendron amurense Rupr. 38 ha mixed-species coppice forest. There were 45 stems P. dbh (diameter at breast height) ≥10 cm had smaller means stem sizes (dbh, height, and crown ratio) basal area increments than those their neighbors. Analysis on choosing cores indicated that most already been under suppressed condition 20 years after establishment, obviously showed growth during following stages. Although they could grow faster without any suppression, sensitivity to shading effects greater other more tolerant species. It seemed suppression by deep crowns particularly prominent. Such extreme responses cause decrease rate onset actual conclude two factors: relative rates initial stage, composition stage are considered be definitive declining process .
