摘要: Terminalia arjuna (Ta) bark contains various natural antioxidants and has been used to protect animal cells against oxidative stress. In the present study, we have examined alleviating effects of Ta aqueous extract Ni toxicity in rice (Oryza sativa L.). When seedlings were raised for 8 days hydroponics Yoshida nutrient medium containing 200 μM NiSO4, a decline height, reduced biomass, increased uptake, loss root plasma membrane integrity, increase level O2˙−, H2O2 ˙OH, lipid peroxidation, photosynthetic pigments, antioxidative enzymes superoxide dismutase, catalase glutathione peroxidase alterations their isoenzyme profile patterns observed. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) showed damage chloroplasts marked by disorganised enlarged starch granules disrupted thylakoids under toxicity. Exogenously adding (3.2 mg ml−1) growth considerably alleviated reducing suppressing generation reactive oxygen species, restoring photosynthesis pigments ultrastructure chloroplasts, levels enzymes. Results suggest that alleviates preventing uptake stress seedlings.
