摘要: We have identified and characterized 12 mutations in seven genes that affect the development of Caenorhabditis elegans hindgut. find can disrupt postembryonic male-specific blast cells within hindgut, hindgut morphology both males hermaphrodites, some cases, expression a marker hermaphrodite animals. Mutations several also viability. On basis their mutant phenotypes, we propose fall into four distinct classes: (1) egl-5 is required for regional identity tail; (2) sem-4 variety ectodermal mesodermal cell types, including hindgut; (3) two genes, lin-49 lin-59, many cells, (4) three mab-9, egl-38, lin-48, are patterning fates making certain different from others. describe new allele Pax gene egl-38 temperature sensitive affects conserved beta-hairpin EGL-38 paired domain. Our results suggest combination factors contribute to normal C. development.
