摘要: OBJECTIVE AND IMPORTANCE: Internal drainage of cerebrospinal fluid to the abdominal cavity via a ventriculoperitoneal shunt (VPS) is common procedure for therapy obstructive hydrocephalus; because this condition often caused by brain tumors blocking natural pathways, VPS as an artificial anastomosis can provide means spreading tumor cells fluid. We report case VPS-related metastasis teratocarcinoma and review pertaining literature. CLINICAL PRESENTATION INTERVENTION: A 24-year-old man with history three that were operated on when patient was 14, 21, 23 years age developed acute ileus 7 months after insertion cerebral teratocarcinoma. Intraoperatively, massive observed, which turned out be peritoneal aforesaid tumor. The died result his illness 1 month later. RESULTS: To date, 58 metastases have been described. male-to-female ratio 1.6:1, mean at 12.2 years, interval between operation diagnosis 16.8 months. During observation time, 69.2% patients their or metastases. most sources germinomas (27.7%), medulloblastomas (19.1%), endodermal sinus (10.3%). CONCLUSION: presented only second Metastases are rare but should considered possible complication mode systemic spread in primary intracranial malignancy.
