Peritoneal metastases in two patients with pineoblastoma and ventriculo-peritoneal shunts.

摘要: We report the uncommon occurrence of ventriculo-peritoneal shunt-associated peritoneal metastases in two patients with pineoblastoma. In one patient, cavity was only site recurrence; there no evidence disease recurrence central nervous system. One other patient recurrent intracranial had synchronous, but asymptomatic, which were detected on an elective ultrasound. Although rare, appear to respond well systemic chemotherapy. Ultrasound surveillance abdomen should be considered as a part routine follow-up evaluation embryonal system tumors and shunts. © 1994 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
