摘要: The system of mate selection in the cockroach, Nauphoeta cinerea, was studied experimentally. dominant male a group mates more often than expected if random mating were occurring. presence female usually does not result changes dominance hierarchy, but frequency certain behavioural patterns intermale interactions after introduction female. Females can discriminate between and non-dominant males on basis odour. experimental approach to this question is somewhat confounded by turning tendencies females; data are presented relating choice tendency.
