摘要: Several important polymerizations [e.g., poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), polystyrene] exhibit gel and glass effects during polymerization. These are associated with the decrease of diffusivities macroradicals monomer molecules increasing viscosities reaction mass. A new model has been developed to account for effects, both under batch semibatch reactor operations. The free volume theory Vrentas Duda used changes in diffusion coefficients. parameters tuned using experimental data on isothermal bulk solution MMA reactors. Conversion histories molecular weights have obtained cases where solvent, initiator or added (or removed from) mass after some taken place. In addition, studies involving step temperature hav carried out. It is found that conversion vs. time behavior such depend upon a complex interplay three factors: Polymer concentration, weight, at point these effected.
