摘要: OBJECTIVE: To verify the usefulness of minimum data set (MDS) for acute-care hospitals and emergency resources study road traffic injuries to describe use health in Catalonia (Spain). METHODS: The population consisted patients treated any kind service admitted acute hospitalization 2013. A descriptive analysis was performed by age, gender, time clinical variables. RESULTS: total 48,150 were hospital departments, 6,210 attended primary care, 4,912 hospital. There a higher proportion men (56.2%), mainly aged between 20 40 years. Men accounted 54.9% with minor 75.1% those severe injuries. Contusions are most common injury (30.2%), followed sprains (28.7%). Fractures mostly affected persons older than 64 years, internal particularly wounds younger 18 years In adult population, severity increased leading longer length stay greater complexity. Fractures, more frequent group very serious injuries, contusions CONCLUSIONS: MDS records (acute resources) provide information that is complementary other sources on accidents, increasing completeness data.
