摘要: The bcl-2 protein, which protects cells from apoptosis, is normally expressed in a number of adult tissues. Dysregulated expression, secondary to (14;18) chromosomal translocation, seems promote the development follicular lymphomas, and recent findings protein several solid tumors suggest that it might contribute genesis many other neoplasms. also highly normal proliferative endometrium markedly down-regulated secretory endometrium, suggests its expression estrogen regulated. Because most endometrial carcinomas associated with hyperestrogenic states, we began investigation role carcinogenesis by immunohistochemically quantifying proliferative, hyperplastic, atypically carcinomatous endometrium. results this study show relatively (n = 11) hyperplastic 18) respective mean staining scores 3.59 3.47 (scale, 0-4), but significantly (P < 0.001) atypical hyperplasia 11; score, 0.82), adenocarcinoma 34; 0.86). did not correlate stage, grade, estrogen-receptor, or progesterone-receptor expression. Polymerase chain reaction analyses DNA isolated were negative for translocation involving gene. Thus, apparently plays no progression carcinoma high-grade advanced-stage carcinoma. These results, however, do rule out involvement very early, preatypical phases carcinogenesis. Finally, marked difference glands prove be diagnostically useful often difficult distinction these entities.
