摘要: Abstract Many metal‐bearing wastes are highly acidic and neutralization prior to treatment yields liquid effluents of high ionic strength. The interfering effects an excess chloride, sulfate nitrate ions on metal accumulation by a Citrobacter sp. were investigated. Sulfate ion (300 mM) did not interfere with although 15–20% the activity was lost in presence ion. This attributable effect phosphatase enzyme responsible for uptake. Chloride interfered uranyl uptake cells immobilized flow‐through bioreactor but had little batch cell suspensions. These results have implications choice design bioprocess use.
