摘要: Background Color traits in animals play crucial roles thermoregulation, photoprotection, camouflage, and visual communication, are amenable to objective quantification modeling. However, the extensive variation non-melanic pigments structural colors squamate reptiles has been largely disregarded. Here, we used an integrated approach investigate morphological basis physical mechanisms generating color tropical day geckos of genus Phelsuma.
