摘要: OBJECTIVE The association between codon 72 polymorphism of the tumour protein p53 (TP53) gene - which results in a missense mutation arginine (R) to proline (P) and susceptibility hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is controversial. A metaanalysis was performed order define this relationship more precisely. METHODS Published studies TP53 risk HCC were identified. Data extracted, summary odds ratios (OR) 95% confidence intervals (95% CI) calculated. Pooled ORs determined for an additive model (R/R versus P/P), dominant ([R/R + R/P] P/P) recessive [R/P P/P]). RESULTS meta-analysis included seven case-control (total 1511 cases 2165 controls). cancer significantly decreased overall Asian populations. found all models hospital-based but not population-based studies. There no when data stratified according hepatitis B or C virus infection status. CONCLUSION may be factor HCC.
