摘要: Background: Endophytic fungi, which have been reported in numerous plant species, are important components of the forest community and contribute significantly to diversity natural ecosystems. Objectives: The current study aimed evaluate characterize, at molecular level, antimicrobial activities endophytic fungi from medicinal plants Saudi Arabia. Materials Methods: Fungi growing on segments were isolated identified based morphological characteristics. isolates grouped into 35 distinct operational taxonomic units, sequence internal transcribed spacer regions rRNA gene. colonization frequency dominant percentage these calculated. A dual culture technique was adopted investigate antifungal activity endophytes. Results: Tamarix nilotica showed highest with a relative 27.27%, followed by Cressa cretica 19.27%. most frequently species Penicillium chrysogenum an overall rate 98.57%. Seven out exhibited strong all fungal pathogens tested. P. chrysogenum, Fusarium oxysporum, F. nygamai inhibition against human pathogenic bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae. Aspergillus sydowii, Eupenicillium crustaceum Enterococcus faecalis. Conclusions: microorganisms could be exploited biotechnology, medicine, agriculture.
