Overview of abortion cases with severe maternal outcomes in the WHO Multicountry Survey on Maternal and Newborn Health: a descriptive analysis

摘要: Objective To summarize individual and institutional characteristics of abortion-related severe maternal outcomes reported at health facilities. Design Secondary analysis data from the WHO Multicountry Survey on Maternal Newborn Health. Setting 85 facilities in 23 countries. Sample 322 women with outcomes. Methods Frequency distributions comparisons differences between cases near miss death using Fisher’s exact tests association. Main outcome measures Individual frequencies potentially life-threatening conditions interventions provided to death. Results Most (SMOs) were 20-34 years old (65.2%) married or cohabitating (92.3%) parous (84.2%) presented abortions resulting pregnancies less than 14 weeks gestation (67.1%). The who died younger more frequently without a partner had =14 compared (MNM). Although haemorrhage cause SMO infection (alone combination haemorrhage) Conclusion This affirms number previously observed morbidity mortality despite fact that facility-based suffers limitations.
