摘要: Despite improved treatment options, coronary artery disease remains the leading cause of death in men and women industrialized societies. Reduction atherosclerotic will require development evaluation new classes pharmacologic agents capable modifying progression process. The direct observation plaque burden morphology with vivo imaging modalities has been evaluated as an end point serial intervention trials. This review describe use intravascular ultrasound for such studies, summarize results from recent trials outline potential future targets.
