摘要: Although it has been appreciated for some time that solar wind disturbances drive major geomagnetic activity, there is now a better understanding of the causes these disturbances. In particular, identification CMEs at Sun as primary source most geoeffective given new impetus and inspiration to space weather forecasting enterprise. Basic research on CME initiation propagation processes expected lead improved physical translates predictive schemes. The National Space Weather Program Implementation Plan briefly outlines what needs be done in set bullets are repeated here perspective. These plans aside, we can already see ideas data sets this volume have potential incorporated into applications, many ways ultimate test our understanding.
