摘要: Nutrient concentrations in the rhizosphere soil can be higher, lower or remain unchanged compared to bulk soil, but relatively little is known about such changes for basic cations of tree roots. A modified root container technique studying processes was employed. Plexiglas cylinders were horizontally split by a membrane with 30 μM mesh size into an upper compartment growth and root-free compartment, each inner diameter 5 cm height 10 cm. One 2-year-old Norway spruce (Picea abies) seedling transplanted from nursery cylinder. Plants not specifically inoculated, roots colonised mix ectomycorrhizal fungi originating nursery. The nutrient poor mineral used experiment taken forest site Bayerischer Wald, southern Germany. either supplied Ca, Mg K, these cations. harvested weeks after transplanting. nylon between compartments restricted so that end mat formed at top side membrane. In nearest regarded as while distance soil. obtained gently shaking soils analysed K contents following two different extraction methods. fertilised treatment, H2O-extractable Ca accumulated rhizosphere. contrast, (NH4Cl-extraction) depleted bottom tube, depletion 1 mat. unfertilised did differ clearly soils. results indicated occurrence cation gradients depended on level supply. Distinct effects measured conventional methods only when freshly elements prior experiment. this case, reflected higher uptake plants. For low-nutrient soils, novel techniques are required follow subtle
