摘要: This investigation was effected to determine the levels of two antioxidant enzymes, superoxide dismutase (SOD) (EC 1.15.1.1) and catalase (CAT) 1.11.1.6) in lung cancerous tissues compare with normal tissue order evaluate status cancer. Fifteen carcinoma samples counterparts from same cases were homogenized cytosols obtained by ultracentrifugation (100,000 x g). SOD assayed using a modification indirect nitroblue tetrazolium assay method, while CAT measured spectrophotometric method. The data are as follows: 1.42 +/- 0.24 U/mg protein (means SEM) cancer 3.13 0.51 33.53 6.09 71.33 14.38 tissue. differences found be significant at level P < 0.01 for both enzymes. These low enzymes can lead elevated reactive oxygen metabolites, resulting damage key subcellular structures such DNA, cell membranes, other vital cellular components.
