摘要: We studied the biological variability of blood superoxide dismutase (SOD; EC 1.15.1.1), glutathione peroxidase (GPX; 1.11.1.9), and catalase (CAT; 1.11.1.6) in a sample 1836 apparently health subjects, ages 4-97 years. SOD GPX activities were assayed plasma (P) erythrocytes (E) by automated methods, CAT was measured manual technique. No statistically significant variation these antioxidant enzyme according to gender demonstrated, except for E-GPX, which slightly but significantly higher women than men (P less 0.001). Activities appear rather stable adults 65 years old, decrease most enzymes elderly. There is no evidence that weight, pressure, or menopause influences enzymes' activities. In girls 10-14 years, E-SOD activity reduced 16% 0.05) after menarche. Variations related smoking alcohol consumption are slight concern only P-SOD P-GPX, respectively. Conversely, intake some drugs (e.g., anti-inflammatory agents, antidepressants, thyroid hormones) modifies three enzymes. positively correlates with (r = 0.216, P 0.001) E-CAT 0.123, 0.001), E-GPX P-GPX 0.218, Finally, we propose reference intervals individuals old.
