摘要: Thirty-two patients with established malignancy and associated pain participated in a randomised double-blind controlled trial. They received salmon calcitonin SC 200 IU or matching placebo 6-hourly for 48 h were assessed by using combination of 20-point visual analogue scale (VAS), 4-point physician's global scale, ranking the co-administered analgesics into 20 grades potency. Twenty-five (13 calcitonin, 12 placebo) evaluated. Seven (4 3 excluded either because initial score was ≤5 on VAS, there insufficient data (due to death occurring within first week study or, one patient, blindness preventing completion VAS).
