MIMAS: an innovative tool for network-based high density oligonucleotide microarray data management and annotation

摘要: The high-density oligonucleotide microarray (GeneChip) is an important tool for molecular biological research aiming at large-scale detection of small nucleotide polymorphisms in DNA and genome-wide analysis mRNA concentrations. Local array data management solutions are instrumental efficient processing the results subsequent uploading annotations to a global certified repository EBI (ArrayExpress) or NCBI (GeneOmnibus). To facilitate accelerate annotation high-throughput expression profiling experiments, Microarray Information Management Annotation System (MIMAS) was developed. system fully compliant with Minimal About Experiment (MIAME) convention. MIMAS provides life scientists highly flexible focused GeneChip storage platform essential interpretation experimental clustering mining tools. software can be downloaded academic use upon request. implements novel concept nation-wide whereby network facilities centered on one node directly connected European public located EBI. solution proposed may serve as prototype approach between institutes organized consortium.
