摘要: Disturbance of metabolism trace elements and antioxidants are investigated in epileptic patients with long-term therapy anticonvulsants. One hundred fifteen subjects including healthy controls, untreated patients, phenytoin (PHT)- or carbamazepine (CBZ)-treated were recruited this study. Serum malondialdehyde was measured as an index extracellular lipid peroxidation. The levels serum copper (S-Cu), zinc, copper/zinc superoxide dismutase (CuZn-SOD), reduced glutathione the monitored simultaneously. results showed that malondialdehyde, S-Cu, CuZn-SOD all significantly increased, but level decreased, PHT monotherapy compared those controls. However, no significant differences these parameters CBZ found except for a mild elevation activity CuZn-SOD. We conclude monotherapy, induced less disturbance element metabolism, antioxidants, peroxidation patients.
