摘要: Research on cancer chemoprevention is an important approach for decreasing both the incidence and number of deaths from cancer. The use tamoxifen to prevent breast cancer, finasteride prostate aspirin colon are recent examples chemoprevention. This article describes research my laboratory related other laboratories effects enzyme induction chemical carcinogenesis as chemoprevention, well studies inhibitory curcumin, caffeine, (-)-epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), tea in animal models carcinogenesis. later substances appear work, at least part, by enhancing apoptosis DNA-damaged cells or tumors. results our those others provide a rationale clinical trials potential chemopreventive EGCG, formation skin, mouth, esophagus, stomach, people with precancerous lesions high risk developing these cancers. It was pointed out that several compounds effective agents one experimental setting can enhance another setting. These suggest it may be necessary tailor regimen individual subjects known carcinogen exposures individuals mechanistically understood pathways so mechanisms action better customized selected more rational basis.
