摘要: Abstract Palm olein and palm stearin are co-products of oil refining processes having different melting point ranges. This study compares the storage degradation characteristics biodiesels derived from these two products, which stearin, in terms chemical properties, engine performance exhaust emission. The was carried out by keeping dark closed-lid containers at room temperature for up to 6 months. It found that oxygen present container led slow through oxidative reaction with double bonds biodiesel. Within months, majority products were composed shorter hydroperoxide compounds other short secondary products. These changes resulted lower heating value higher density biodiesels, turn caused reductions fuel combustion efficiency economy. In emission, degraded biodiesel produced more complete as indicated emissions black smoke carbon monoxide but emission NOx. type, even though possessed degree unsaturation peroxide acid values degradation, its economy still superior possibly due chain lengths.
