摘要: The mass media shape the public and policy agenda by giving prominence to certain ecosystem changes risks, as well framing some measures preferred ones. Based on longitudinal analysis of leading Finnish newspaper, this study considers coverage eutrophication. results show an increase reporting in late 1990s a result intertwined ecological social factors – i.e. intense algal occurrences establishment national communication system. news has highlighted harmful blooms health risks toxins framed short-term weather conditions key factor regulating occurrences. This creates challenge for environmental management aimed at reduction nutrient discharges that influence state environment long term.
