摘要: Securing high-quality potable water is a key challenge for all societies. The question not only about availability and quality determined by hydrological, chemical, biological factors, or technologies monetary assets, but also various cultural, social, political factors that together constitute so-called hydro-social cycles. We focus on risk communication management, in connection with the debates planning construction of an artificial groundwater recharge system Virttaankangas esker, aiming to provide region Turku, southwest Finland. Based print media coverage, online debate, comments environmental impact assessment report, we identify themes framings discuss which elements cycle are prone be highlighted omitted. Our results show how different risks benefits represented regard geography, time span, causative agents, types, those exposed, alternative management options, uncertainties involved. Representations created both traditional new social polarise debate. adoption concept processes may help understanding alleviating polarisation.
