摘要: Objective: To assess the effect of octenidine dihydrochloride (Octenisept, Schulke & Mayr) on clinical condition and bacterial flora in neoplastic ulcers. Method: Twenty-one patients with advanced cancer ulcers were included study. Octenisept-moistened gauze dressings applied to three times daily. The bacteriological status wounds assessed at baseline after weeks treatment. Results: Thirty-three strains cultured baseline. After treatment, tests repeated 16 patients. Clinical observations confirmed an improvement ulcers, characterised by a reduction necrosis, exudate levels, erythema oedema. According assessment, Staphylococcus aureus, epidermidis Proteus mirabilis eradicated from wounds. Enterococcus faecalis persisted two patients, Escherichia coli one patient Pseudomonas aeruginosa...
