摘要: Chemotaxis allows bacteria to sense gradients in their environment and respond by directing swimming. Aer is a receptor that, instead of responding specific chemoattractant, cellular energy levels move towards favourable environments. In Pseudomonas, the number apparent homologs differs between only two species it had been characterized in, P. aeruginosa putida. Here we combined bioinformatic approaches with deletional mutagenesis pseudoalcaligenes KF707 further characterize Aer. It was determined that varies 0-4 throughout Pseudomonas genus, they were phylogenetically classified into 5 subgroups. We also used sequence analysis show these homologous receptors differ HAMP signal transduction domains. Genetic indicated some have likely subject horizontal transfer. unique among for having three as well CttP McpB. Phenotypic characterization this showed most prevalent homolog key, but not essential energy-taxis. This study demonstrates energy-taxis provides new naming convention associated phylogenetic details chemoreceptors.
