摘要: Abstract Vegetables are increasingly recognized as essential for food and nutrition security. Vegetable production provides a promising economic opportunity reducing rural poverty unemployment in developing countries is key component of farm diversification strategies. mankind's most affordable source vitamins minerals needed good health. Today, neither the nor nutritional power vegetables sufficiently realized. To tap vegetables, governments will need to increase their investment productivity (including improved varieties, alternatives chemical pesticides, use protected cultivation), postharvest management, safety, market access. consumers know how contribute health, find them at prices or be able grow themselves. consumption must therefore nurtured through combination supply-side interventions behavioral change communication emphasizing importance eating fully donors give much greater priority than they currently receive. Now time prioritize investments providing increased opportunities smallholder farmers healthy diets all.
