摘要: We report on various algorithms used for the nonlinear optimization of RBE-weighted dose in particle therapy. Concerning calculation carbon ions are considered and biological effects calculated by Local Effect Model. Taking fully into account requires iterative methods to solve problem. implemented several additional GSI's treatment planning system TRiP98, like BFGS-algorithm method conjugated gradients, order investigate their computational performance. modified textbook iteration procedures improve convergence speed. The performance is presented terms iterations computation time. found that Fletcher–Reeves variant gradients algorithm with best With this we could speed up times a factor 4 compared steepest descent, which was before. our new it possible optimize complex plans few minutes leading good distributions. At end discuss future goals concerning issues therapy might benefit from fast solvers.
