Effects of strength, endurance, concurrent training on aerobic power dynamic neuromuscular economy in elderly men. J Strength Cond Res 25(3): 758– 766, 2011—The aim this study was to investigate the effects endurance capacity Twenty-three healthy men (65 6 4 years) were divided into 3 groups: (CG, n = 8), strength (SG, group (EG, 7). Each trained times a week for 12 weeks, training, or both types same session. The maximum workload (Wmax) peak oxygen uptake ( _ VO2peak) subjects evaluated cycle ergometer before after period. Moreover, during maximal test, muscle activation measured at each intensity by means electromyographic signals from vastus lateralis (VL), rectus femoris (RF), biceps long head, gastrocnemius determine economy. After significant increases VO2peak Wmax only found CG EG (p , 0.05), with no difference between groups. there decrease myoelectric activity RF 50 (EG), 75 100 W (EG CG) VL groups 0.05). No change seen electrical signal lateral femoris. results suggest specificity adaptations investigated subjects, because most marked changes occurred aerobically
