Synthesis of 10‐deazapteroic and 11‐deazahomopteroic acids

摘要: The syntheses of 10-deazapteroic and 11-deazahomopteroic acids are described. These compounds along with their simple 6-phenylalkylpteridinol relatives were found to be inactive as antimalarial agents against the Plasmodium berghei or gallinaceum strains. 10-Deazapteroie acid was a potent growth inhibitor Streptococcus faecium both in pteridine tetrahydropteridine forms.
