摘要: Numerous factors need to be taken into account in deciding whether a patient with Parkinson's disease (PD) is candidate for deep brain stimulation. Patient-related personal including age and the presence of other comorbid disorders considered. Neuropsychological neuropsychiatric concerns relate both presurgical status potential surgery result new problems postoperatively. A number related underlying PD considered, specific parkinsonian motor indications (e.g., tremor, bradykinesia, gait dysfunction), previous medical therapies, benefit from current therapy adverse effects, past surgical treatments. Definable causes Parkinsonism, particularly atypical Parkinsonisms, should Finally, methods evaluating outcomes defined formalized. This report Consensus on Deep Brain Stimulation Disease, project commissioned by Congress Neurological Surgeons Movement Disorder Society (MDS). The has been endorsed Scientific Issues Committee MDS American Stereotactic Functional Neurosurgery. It outlines answers series questions developed address all aspects stimulation preoperative decision-making.
