摘要: In this work, the diffusion bonding of duplex stainless steel (DSS) and Ti–6Al–4V (Ti64) with without nickel alloy (NiA) as an interlayer was investigated in temperature range 800–950 °C for 30 min vacuum. Layer wise σ phase FeTi + λ mixture were observed at DSS | Ti64 bond interface when joints made 875 above temperatures; however, used to facilitate both Ti64, layer Ni–Ti-based intermetallic NiA–Ti64 bright irregular-shaped Fe5Cr35Ni40Ti15 within Ni3Ti layer, while DSS–NiA free from any intermetallic. Direct bonded (DSS Ti64) processed 925 achieved highest tensile strength (∼498.3 MPa) along substantial ductility, shear (∼385.2 MPa), impact toughness (∼18 J). Usage process NiA proved be advantageous than point view properties, strength, joints. fail either through or phase, depending upon selected, whereas fracture apparently NiTi2 interface.
