摘要: This manuscript first revises the performance of total power, Dicke-type and noise-injection microwave radiometers. Equations for radiometric resolution are revised or derived, their in terms improvement with respect to ideal power radiometer is evaluated. It then shown that radiometers can be optimized by adjusting dynamically integration times devoted three measurements: antenna, antenna plus noise, reference load. Numerical results presented illustrate dependence different instrument parameters. Experimental finally corroborate predicted performance. also many cases interest these set a constant value little degradation optimum case, but better than case which time divided equal subintervals.
