摘要: Nitrate (NO3−) is present in aquatic ecosystems as a natural component of the nitrogen cycle. However, last decades, several human activities are causes rising amounts organic matter and inorganic nutrients ecosystems, causing notable increase nitrate above background levels. In spite toxicity to animals, there relatively few studies on chronic this compound invertebrates. The aim our study assess effect (35 days) exposure behaviour (velocity movement) reproduction (number newborns) snail Potamopyrgus antipodarum. Four actual concentrations were used (21.4, 44.9, 81.8 156.1 mg N-NO3−/L). each treatment, 12 animals individually monitored for velocity (weekly) newborn production (every 3–4 days). Velocity was recorded using quantitative video monitoring. Our results showed that did not cause mortality, but it reduced movement (at N-NO3−/L) number live newborns (in all tested concentrations). Reproductive impairment caused at realistic which relevant risk assessment compound. contributes knowledge effects an snail.
