摘要: Purpose To evaluate the long-term effects of anterior capsule polishing on regeneratory posterior opacification (PCO), (ACO), and fibrotic PCO with a silicone intraocular lens (IOL) sharp optic edges. Setting Department Ophthalmology, Medical University Vienna, Austria. Methods This prospective bilateral randomized patient- examiner-masked clinical trial comprised 130 eyes 65 patients age-related cataract. All had implantation 3-piece IOL truncated, sharp-edged (CeeOn Edge 911A, Advanced Optics). In 1 eye, was extensively polished using an aspiration curette after phacoemulsification cortex aspiration. Regenerative quantified objectively, while ACO were graded subjectively 1, 2, 3, 5 years postoperatively. Results The mean score significantly lower in which been (1 year, P Conclusions Three cataract surgery, less ACO. However, did not intensity when CeeOn 911A implanted bag. Although results indicate that may enhance development PCO, this trend reach statistical significance.
