摘要: Abstract Purpose: To examine the causes, signs, and symptoms of anterior capsule contraction syndrome response to neodymium:YAG (Nd:YAG) capsulotomy. Setting: Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma, Washington, USA. Methods: This retrospective review comprised 70 cases phacoemulsification with foldable plate-haptic silicone intraocular lens (IOL) implantation. Patients who developed postoperatively, defined as being visible through an undilated pupil, had a radial capsulotomy Nd:YAG laser. Variables analyzed were visual acuity, subjective complaints, associated inflammation, IOL decentration. Results: Ten eyes 9 patients (14%) laser Three reported decreased acuity glare. Two other chronic anterior_ chamber inflammation unresponsive steroids after surgery that resolved Intraocular decentration was observed in 3 before Posterior dislocation occurred 1 patient required surgical exchange. Conclusion: One-piece IOLs may not provide enough peripheral expansion.
