摘要: Abstract 1. An altered pattern of RNA synthesis in a line normally growing HeLa cells has been studied. 2. Although low overall incorporation [ 3 H]uridine which failed to label the 45-S rRNA precursor characterised these cells, 14 C]methionine into showed its continued and normal maturation. 3. H]Uridine host cell labelled two newly appearing extranuclear species sedimenting on either side 18-S rRNA. 4. A DNA bouyant density was with H]thymidine. 5. The nucleic acids proved be similar those mycoplasma, mycoplasma contamination later confirmed by electron microscopic cultural techniques.
