摘要: The ultimate goal in any programme of aphasia rehabilitation is a social one ? that behaviours targeted therapy will generalise to everyday use for people with (PWA). Conversation the most frequent communicative activity daily life. While conversation provides rich source data investigating range potential effects, it presents methodological challenges an experimental design. Thus, effects impairment-focused on have been investigated by only handful studies. This thesis aimed contribute growing interest measuring impairment-based therapies conversation. A sequential model was designed which increasing levels language production from verb retrieval, syntactic construction and storytelling, on-going sampling data. each were tracked across contexts decreasing constraint. Quantitative measures developed a) stability variables baseline conversation, b) compared changes test/retest analysis, c) applicable connected speech case design used nine participants non-fluent took part two empirical studies four third study. Verb retrieval consisted semantic feature analysis (SFA), gesture phonemic cueing semantically light heavy verbs as well personally relevant participant. Syntactic included mapping approach reduced syntax (REST). Both found strong direct measures, less clear patterns indirect measures. Regarding data, within both indicated lack statistically significant variability interest, but no evidence change group following therapy. Analysis individual participant?s performance revealed post-therapy quantitative qualitative subset after receiving these interventions. final incorporated environment storytelling draw upon extend work previous (i.e., grammatically-reduced phrases, gesture). An combined PWA their partner whereby received treatment targeting narrative (through thinking speaking story grammar) role co-constructing coaching). approaches utilised personalised goals, modelling, video feedback discussion. On assessment, performances couples demonstrated attributed programme. For couples, single how participated task before therapy, similarities argument support multi-component also explicit therapeutic focus generalisation linguistic skills situation.
