摘要: The relationships of selected organochlorine (OC) contaminants between blubber, blood, feces, and milk young, free-ranging Steller sea lions (Eumetopias jubatus) were examined. Both within each tissue there was considerable individual variation. In spite the variation, similar patterns observed across tissues for most PCB congeners. all four tissues, major congeners PCB101, PCB118, PCB138, PCB153. prominent congener, both as a weight (ng/g lipid) percentage summed PCBs (∑PCBs), 153. Comparisons paired showed that ∑DDTs in blubber samples related to concentrations milk. ∑PCBs fecal samples, though relationship with feces weak. Our findings show particular, are useful assessing OCs young lions. Blubber PCB138 an order magnitude higher than those milk, supporting biomagnification these SSL tissues. indicate alternative may be used indicators relative contaminant exposure lieu surgical biopsy.
