摘要: This paper intends to contribute the use of waste, as binder replacement, lower negative environmental impact construction. Sugarcane bagasse ash (SCBA) is an agricultural waste which has been reported pozzolanic. However, literature on pozzolanic activity SCBA inconclusive. attempts establish properties that determine reactivity most, in effort standardise material, allow a wider intake into mainstream The fineness, specific surface area, microstructure, composition and amorphousness ashes from four producers Brazil are studied, microstructure kinetics reactions ash/hydrated-lime pastes investigated with SEM/EDS. results evidence that, despite their high crystallinity carbon content, Reactivity was proven physical (activity index) chemical tests (conductivity), hydrates were evident at 7 days. increased rising but area particles impacts most. concluded form following findings: Fineness not vital for reactivity, some coarse produce similar strengths combine comparable amounts lime than much finer ashes. presence significant amorphous fraction active consisting mostly crystalline phases (quartz, corundum hematite). High contents do eradicate greatest most reactive, achieving highest combining lime. Finally, all SCB present marginal content anions alkalis capable forming detrimental gels salts, desirable quality any material.
