New method to assess the pozzolanic reactivity of mineral admixtures by means of pH and electrical conductivity measurements in lime:pozzolan suspensions

摘要: A very simple method based on electrical conductivity and pH measurements was proposed for assessing reactivity of pozzolans. Calcium hydroxide:pozzolan water suspensions were monitored by means values. In these suspensions, Ca(OH)2 in solid state initially present, being them, thus, saturated this reagent. Three testing temperatures selected (40, 50 60 °C). the experiments carried out, calcium hydroxide suspended deionized yielding a lime suspension. The addition siliceous pozzolan (two types rice husk ash RHA two densified silica fume DSF tested) to suspension can produce unsaturation system, depending time, temperature pozzolan. When reached, loss higher than 30% variation 0.15 units. These threshold values characterizing pozzolans template, classifying three different levels.
