摘要: In nature, soil and water systems are intimately inter-related through a complex web of interactions. this chapter, the nature properties soils reviewed with emphasis on chemical composition binding, cycling transformation substances in soil. The main focus is metals, but organic compounds also discussed. Water discussed mainly as an exposure route from to humans. Various aspects pollution discussed, including industry mining, long-range atmospheric transport, pesticides fertilizers waste disposal sites. possible health effects acidification treated, cadmium, lead, mercury aluminium. Finally, some drinking instances where toxic at least partly have their origin soils, constitutes important pathway This includes arsenic, West Bengal, fluoride, hardness, nitrate chlorination by-products. Keywords: soil; drinking water; acidification; cadmium; lead; mercury; aluminium; arsenic; chlorination by-products
