摘要: One hundred thirty boreholes of volcanic aquifers in rural Yemen Highland Groundwaters (YHGs) were chemically investigated to assess the suitability water for drinking. Focus is identify inorganic constituents significant risk health that occur groundwaters this area. Results showed a number contain, apart from fluoride, levels nitrate, some heavy metals, total dissolved solids, and sulfates could pose consumers. The lateral variations major ions with depth varied within same aquifer based on dynamic equilibrium groundwater hydrogeological conditions. main contaminant YHG fluoride which attributed lithology type. Fluoride appears high Ca-poor where cation exchanges Ca Na are dominant. High F concentration an extension East African fluoride-rich groundwater. Majority tube wells show Fe exceeds WHO guideline many folds. Much iron manganese naturally occurring, since source rocks enriched ferromagnesian minerals. NO3− Cl− concentrations have been detected may indicate sewage and/or agricultural runoff. Elevated chemical sign degradation.
