摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the role of noninvasive electroencephalography in mesial temporal sclerosis. The value electroencephalographic recordings with surface electrodes, including anterior electrodes and sphenoidal has been assessed various studies. Scalp electroencephalogram (EEG) findings have analyzed patients who became seizure free after lobe epilepsy (TLE), compared to depth EEG magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) investigations. 23 25 MRI-proven atrophy hippocampal formation showed interictal epileptiform discharges (IED), 16 exclusively ipsilateral side atrophy, 7 bilateral independent. 35 scalp-EEG unilateral 21 scalp bilateral, but asymmetrical were compared. It is observed that both groups, IED only occurred region. A approach performed scalp-sphenoidal was evaluated nontumor TLE operated on. found 33 had spikes waking sleep recordings, 2 sleep. morphology ictal patterns consists a rhythmic theta-delta activity vast majority seizures, other less-frequent are not less-lateralizing value.
