摘要: Abstract: ‘Optical biopsy’ is a novel method that uses spectroscopy at selected wavelengths to diagnose disease such as cancer and atherosclerosis without removing tissue from the body, offering new armamentarium. This chapter provides an overview focuses on how key native molecules in tissues reveals differences between cancerous normal of various organs due morphological molecular changes tissue. The optical methods are: fluorescence, Stokes shift, elastic backscattering reflectance, Raman, time-resolved spectroscopies. These will be reviewed useful tools biopsy. Various human types (prostate, breast, lung, colon, gastrointestinal) have been studied using underlying physical biological basis for these approaches discussed with examples.
